šŸŽ Appleā€™s Rumor Mill is Alive and Well

... and Google Search - The Short Story

Hello, fellow nerds šŸ§™

Oh doctor, the year of robotic food delivery is upon us. Well, if you live in Phoenix metro area, that is.

From now on, if you order from UberEats, thereā€™s a good chance you could be getting a robo taxi to drop off your food. Friendly warning though, if you donā€™t leave your humble robo taxi a tip, itā€™ll leave its doors locked and just sit outside your home until you do. Probably.

Hereā€™s the daily quests in AI to complete today:

Is Apple About to Unveil The Future of Home Robots?

Ever since the notorious failure of Apple's top-secret car project, the tech giant has been on the hunt for its next big thing. And according to insiders, it might just be robots. Well, maybe.

Now, before you start picturing a humanoid robot, like Figure 01, doing your laundry and cooking your meals, we should mention that Appleā€™s not quite there. According to Bloomberg's anonymous sources (who, let's be real, are probably just Apple employees who love the gossip), the project is still in its very early stages.

So, it's unclear whether these robots will ever see the light of day, or if they'll just become another forgotten experiment like that time Apple tried to make a gaming console (remember the Pippin? Yeah, neither do we, but more on that next Thursday šŸ˜‰)

But hey, let's indulge in a little speculation, shall we?

One of the rumored robot prototypes is an iPad-moving machine that can follow you around your homeā€”Which, weā€™ve never imagined we needed?? But, from what we know so far, imagine having your own personal iPad butler, always at your side, ready to show you funny cat videos at the drop of a hat. Or a place for your coat. Either or.

And that's not all. Apple is also said to be working on a tabletop robot that mimics your head movements during FaceTime calls. Because who needs to physically move their head when you can have a robot do it for you? Definitely a case of first world problems, but weā€™re here for it.

Now, don't go camping outside an Apple store quite yet because these robots might never make it to market. But the fact that Apple is rumored to be investing time and resources into this project shows that they're still hungry to innovate. A

Google Search - The Short Story

The long reigning search champion has been haphazardly dominating for as long as we can remember, but is it coming to an end?

AOL and dial up were synonymous just like Google and search and well, theyā€™re nowhere to be found.

As we approach the AI horizon, maybe Google has to rethink its traditional, ad driven, free to consumer model.

How will ads work when weā€™re able to ask Google a question and simply receive a straight answer? How would ads fit into that equation?

Well, one way Microsoft is envisioning it, is to offer a lower tiered free version of Copilot and an exclusive pro version thatā€™s pumped full of steroids in all of its standalone software like Excel.

Google has some amazing standalone software, too. Just to name a fewā€¦ Letā€™s start with Gmail. Docs. Sheets. Calendar. Maps. Chrome. Drive. Photos.

Oh, and donā€™t forget, YouTube.

When a company reports $175 billion in revenue from search and ads, it only makes sense for them to be the industry leader to define how the future of AI search is monetized.

Who knows, this could be the beginning of the end of Google as we all know it. Or not?

Daily Delight

Just something fun and interesting around the web.

Weā€™re seeing more and more cool shit coming out of the Apple Vision Pro space, and man, if it werenā€™t for the price tag, weā€™d be all aboard.

This video is very reminiscent of the good olā€™ LAN parties back in the day, but without the smell of sweaty gamers and pizza floating in the air.
