😎 Meta’s Got Some Swagger

AI hardware is still very much alive even after the Humane Pin was a complete dumpster fire at launch—if you haven't seen the reviews, watch this.

Now to be fair, any hardware in the AI space is still in its infancy, so we applaud the effort. But, there’s one company that’s found its feet early, and it won’t be much of a surprise. More on that below…

Meta’s Got Some Swagger Thanks to Ray Bans

Ok, so I (Tyler) have been watching Meta’s Ray Bans like a hawk. And to be honest, I’m hyped. Super hyped. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about the future of glasses in my life. Because, well, there’s never really been a time to be excited—except when Google Glass hit the scene back in 2013 and just happened to be 10 years before its time… RIP.

So what’s got me itchin’ like a crack fiend to slap Meta’s Ray Bans on my face?

• Integrated video recording

• A 12MP camera to take photos at any time

• Livestreaming capabilities if I’m feeling social

• Open ear speakers to listen to music or take calls

• And just introduced, Meta AI is flowing through these frames

The beauty of all this? You don’t need your phone out to do any of it.  

And that’s the biggest seller for me. I’m all for being in the moment. Phones away, just being present with the people you’re with and enjoying your time with them. To me, phones just get in the way of that.

But the Ray Bans solve that problem.

I never would’ve guessed I’d be a cheerleader for the Meta camp, but these glasses are something special, even if they don’t work 100% of the time. I strongly believe the future of wearables is going to look like glasses, but they’ll become much more powerful. Think Apple Vision Pro and Meta Ray Bans had a baby. Once that becomes reality, take all my money, please.
