PLUS: Confession time

Sup, Nerds šŸ§™

Robot taxis are here, but they aren’t self-driving Tesla’s like you’d think.

Waymo, a robotic taxi company owned by Alphabet (Google’s parent company), finally got the OK from California to start charging passengers for rides. Which is crazy because that means people were just getting free rides for months. Talk about convenience.

Here are the daily quests in AI to complete today:

šŸ˜‘ AI-Generated Images Are Being Dropped Into the Election

And we’re not seeing a parachute in sight…

The election is happening this year, and AI is already making itself known. We’ve heard almost spot-on Joe Biden robocalls being sent out to influence voters, which is crazy in its own right. But now we’re seeing AI-generated images spread across social media to target specific voter communities.

Now this presents a problem because how will you ever know if they’re fake photos?

Well, you won’t. At least not at face value.

And that's been the underlying fear of AI as this election year starts heating up. We can hope and cross our fingers that both parties will keep things honest and not generate any fake images to influence voters or prop ones up that supporters have created, but that’s a big hope.

Once the cat’s outta the bag, good luck getting ol’ fluffy back in.

šŸ’˜ Yup, it’s Official. I’m Always Dating

A short story about finding the right one…

I hate to admit it, but I’ve been seeing multiple people. It’s been a wild ride so here’s the rundown.

It all started with Chad. November 30, 2022. I remember it like it was yesterday. He was simple, yet powerful. He worked hard and did his best to make me happy.

For months, he swept me off my feet. I’d never dated anyone quite like him. He helped me understand the world differently and didn’t mind explaining things to me like I was five.

Then came Mark… he was flashy. You could tell he wanted to ā€œpeacockā€ and show off his skills. So incredibly artistic. The world was a blank canvas and he’d create anything I’d ask of him.

One day, without notice, I ran into George. We’d dated in the past when he went by Bob but he’s since had ā€œsome work doneā€ if you know what I mean. He seems to be doing better now with his new and improved look.

George is still a great guy but he was more or less a Chad gone bad. I was starting to like him but we had a little incident where I couldn’t tell if he was being racist so I ghosted him.

Oh yeah, Chris the pilot. He always had the latest tech. Dependable, yes. But also sort of boring.

Greg was hilarious on the other hand… he cracked me up. He was funny and brought out the rebel in me. But there were times when he was definitely trying too hard and the conversation was a little awkward.

Then there was Michele the underdog. An international athlete so to say. He didn’t have the same resources as everyone else but he wouldn’t let them keep him out of the fight. Last I heard, he was still competing with the best.

Last but not least is Chappy. At first sight, I knew he was different. A sophisticated gentleman in both personality and appearance. Maybe it was his calm, and confident demeanor. He didn’t have to say a word, you knew he tested well and was a high scorer. He simply had that it factor.

When he walked in the room, people turned. Ladies, you know what I mean. Fellas, you’d bromance harder than Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t see myself settling down anytime soon. There’s too many options and new people to meet everyday, if you get my drift.

Just like these fictional guys, generative AI tools have a bit of personality and plenty of nuances.

No, I didn’t mean to imply that I ā€œget around.ā€ Gotcha šŸ™ƒ

šŸ’»ļø Tech Tuesday

An interesting tidbit about technology.

We can FINALLY enter the Matrix.

I do want to say, why has it taken this long to be able to enter the Matrix?? Technology limitations, maybe, but that’s not a good enough answer. The Matrix is an IP playground ripe for all the tech advances we’ve seen lately. It’s a no-brainer to open up that rabbit hole for us fans to dive into.

If you haven’t seen The Matrix, and want to have your brain see what the world could possibly look like (minus the apocalyptic vibes hopefully), we highly recommend it.

Daily Delight

Just something fun and interesting around the web.

The PlayStation 2 was released in Japan 24 years ago today. Feelin’ old yet?

I played every single one of these games in this pic. Loved ā€˜em all.

A big happy birthday to the greatest console of all time. Greatest of all time? You’re goddamn right. The controller, backward compatibility, huge library of games, and memory cards corrupting and ruining every single save I had defined my childhood.

Here are some stats to butter your biscuit with.

  • $2.2 billion in profit

  • 159 million units sold

  • 4,000+ games

  • Infinite amount of nostalgia
