Scarlett Johansson and Chat GPT Break Up

Well, not the actual Scarlett Johansson, but the voice that was used in the product demo called, “Sky”, has been officially cut. Why? Because it sounds wayyy too much like Scarlett. Take a listen:

Now compared to this?

Oof, I mean, we’re talking hella close. But OpenAI stands by their guns and says that Sky was an entirely different voice actor.

So, why would they remove the voice?

Well, internet backlash perhaps.

But honestly, who knows. Sure, Her was definitely used as an inspiration, but unless there was some legal implications that OpenAI hasn’t shared, it’s strange that they’d remove the voice that millions of people have already heard and identify GPT-4o by.

Now, Sam Altman suggests you could either sell, give, or use the computing power… hrm, I wonder why he is promoting computer power over an injection of cash? 😆 

A universal basic income has been the talk of the town these days to help combat the wealth gap. But now, Geoffrey Hinton, aka the AI Godfather who pioneered neural networking suggests the only way up is to implement a UBI.

In the United States, we had a taste of UBI during COVID-19 when many received a check in the mail for seemingly being a U.S. citizen.

Sam Altman is even running his own experiment around UBI which he plans to release soon.

If the Godfather of AI is predicting AI to be a “extinction-level threat” within 5 to 20 years then shouldn’t we all be slightly worried?
