🤖 Personal AI Chatbots Have Entered the Classroom
... and Hollywood’s Irresponsible Use of Generative AI Images
Hello, fellow nerds 🧙
2024 is officially going down as the year of immersion because this is all just getting mind bottling.
Apparently, you can now just take a video of the world around you and turn it into a “realistic and interactive environment.” So, a video game. Easy as that. As some hardcore gamers over here, our nerd brains are smiling ear to ear. The world of AI + gaming just keeps getting better and better.
Here’s the daily quests in AI to complete today:

Personal AI Chatbots Have Entered the Classroom
You know how kids are naturally hardwired to just pummel you with a million “Why” and “How come” questions? Well, there might be a new AI that can help with the question bombardment, and a school in San Diego is putting it through the ringer.
It's called SchoolAI, and the premise is simple: give each student their own personal AI chatbot to ask whatever questions are tumbling around in their little noggins and let them wander.
Apparently kids are clearly digging this autonomy. One fifth-grader appreciated the freedom to ask anything they want without the fear of looking silly in front of the class. There was also a first-grader who, not knowing any English, was able to ask her personal AI questions in her native language and was able to participate despite the language barrier.
Why does this matter?
Frankly, this is kind of a crazy way to gamify learning for kids. Let them exercise their intellectual muscles by steering discussion into areas that genuinely spark their interests and following wherever those curious black holes lead. All while reinforcing crucial language, logic and self-expression skills in the process.
Now, is SchoolAI going to single-handedly revolutionize our more than questionable education system overnight? Probably not - there are still hurdles around scalability, accessibility and monitoring those robo-teachers for any biases. But it's undeniably a promising evolution in transforming the classroom into more of an engaging, inclusive exploration rather than the traditional mind numbing lecture to slog through.
Hollywood’s Irresponsible Use of Generative AI Images
In the Netflix documentary “What Jennifer Did” a number of questionable images are being called out for having distorted hands.
For anyone who’s familiar with generative AI for images, distorted hands and fingers are one of the tell tale signs of tom foolery.
Spoiler alert, Jennifer Pan is accused of first-degree murder and life in prison, in the 2010 true crime documentary.
With the impressive release of AI features baked into Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop, the question of ethics and morality remain. Should AI generated images and videos be used for real stories, such as documentaries?
When it comes to manipulating images, Hollywood hasn’t written any rules or guidelines. But, maybe we should stick to creating cool variations of Super Saiyan instead of potentially influencing a life sentence conviction.

Let the wizards be your guide to create something fun with AI.
Stuck on what to wear? Let Claude be your fashion guide.
We’ve all had some brainfarts on what looks good together and what doesn’t. And sometimes, well, we just need a second opinion. That’s where Claude comes in.
And don’t worry, this is honestly quite simple.
If you’re unfamiliar with Claude (our personal favorite model), go to Claude.ai.
Snap a picture of the outfit in question and then upload them together by clicking the paper clip icon.
Then simply ask, “does this outfit go together?”
Here’s the results:
Apparently, a pink shirt and a red and black flannel clash just a smidge, so we won’t be slapping that on.
Now, some models are better than others at deciphering whether an outfit truly clashes or not, and just tell you your choices of fashion are excellent. So some small judgment mayyy be needed.
But if you need a second opinion on some style in a pinch, Claude’s got your back like a buttcrack.
