Sweatshops - The Dark Side of AI
Hello, fellow nerds š§
We mentioned yesterday that Google suggested you put glue on your pizza to get your cheese to stay on. Now this was all thanks to a Reddit user, but boy oh boy, that was Google search just getting warmed up.
Hereās an entire thread of Google search blunders thanks to their newly implemented AI features. And boy what a treat. Now I donāt know about you, but if Google search is going to hell, what else do we use??
Hereās the daily quests in AI to complete today:

Answering Your Phone is So Last Year
Raise your hand if whenever you get a phone call, you ignore it completely and wait to see if you get a voicemail. In my brain, if itās not important enough for a voicemail, it sure as hell isnāt important enough to answer.
Now, what if you could get rid of the thought, or guilt on my end somedays, of ever having to answer the phone? What if you could create a digital version of you to do all the talking instead?
Stop it, that just sounds like some Sci-Fi bologna.
Well, I can assure you there aināt no Oscar Meyer bullshit here.
Say hello to Truecaller. The little app thatāll let you record your own voice to create your very own digital version of you. Once setup, forget about answering your phone anymore. Let digital you do all the heavy lifting. Or Talking. Whatever works.
Sound a little weird? Oh, you betcha. But this is the future of AI. Phone calls and talking to people in general is gonna get less and less.
Hereās how it all works:
Sweatshops - The Dark Side of AI
Ever wonder who creates the inappropriate labels for AI training? Ya know, the dirty dozen like murder, rape, pornography, child abuse, bestiality and more?
Well, come to find out, African workers from Kenya have to watch that crap for 8+ hours a day to make less than $2 an hour.
These toxic videos not only make their eyes bleed for hours, thereās a good chance PTSD could set in, too.
In a desperate letter to President Biden, African workers are begging him to become the next Luke Skywalker (although we know theyāre really hoping for a Rey) to save them from evil tech corporations.
Among the companies noted are Meta, OpenAI and Scale AI. Yuck.
After all, who wouldāve guessed humans were behind the degenerate moderation?
š F2P Friday - AudioPen

š¤ Daily Delight
Just something fun and interesting around the web.
The power that AI can give you is absolutely incredible. Especially when it comes to dealing with HOAs. This story is just a masterclass in sticking to those greedy bastards.
Bravo, knickerbocker. Just bravo.
Whatās happening inside the Realm
A list of side quests to explore and more.
š§āāļø AI legal assistants are apparently making some pretty bad mistakes in 1 out of 6 cases, but in all honesty, AI is still rather young in this department. Hopefully lawyers are at least doing a fact check before hitting the green light.
š¬ļø The Jennifer Lopez led movie, Atlas, just hit Netflix, and apparently it wasnāt a complete dumpster fire. In fact, IGN gave it a solid 6 out of 10, which to me still deserves a watch with a hefty bowl of popcorn.
š°ļø Meta and Google are pitching partnerships to the big dogs in Hollywood for millions.
š Kia really made a comeback with its new design and logo but now itās hitting electric with 300+ miles of range and an AI Assistant included.
Thatās all the quests we have for today. Check back tomorrow for more!
